Zilah Gourmet is For us Brazil is
|
At São Paulo’s most charming quarter, Jardins, you will find Zilah Gourmet; it conceived to be a place where “Brazilianity” is at its best. Brazilianity as a manifestation of Brazilian culture, of its colonial influences, of the richness in its fruits and herbs. A manifestation of art and its regional roots as well as the sophistication of what is naturally beautiful. Our products are a reinterpretation of the main dishes, including international ones, that made their way into the Brazilian everyday life through colonisation, using native ingredients to bring sophistication to the flavours. Our menu is just like a bouquet from each Brazilian state, with the ingredients artistically combined and beautifully presented. Through our menu we honour the icon of “Brazilianity”: Heitor Villa Lobos! The dishes were named after his works, such as Veleiro (Sailboat): Flounder with Brazil nuts; or Trenzinho Caipira (Provincial little train): Chicken breast marinated in Cachaça, served with corn cream, made from green corn especially to bring a completely new taste and consistency to it; or even Bachianas nº 5: Manioc gnocchi, with tomato and basil sauce. Our idea is not to imitate styles nor become another place that serves typical food, in São Paulo. Our aim is to become “THE” place where one can learn more about Brazil, its history and its sophistication in the simplest of things from nature through their creative combinations; The place where dishes reflect the wisdom from the coast, the fields, the ocean, the rivers, the Amazon, the south, the north and a central-east region still little explored gastronomically. Brazilianity is the appreciation of Brazilian things, the understanding of their mixture and their translation of that into delicious dishes made from the best of the Brazilian mix of people, alchemy and flavours! We are open from 7am to 11pm and At dinner time we adopt the “slow food” movement, serving wine and a more extensive and sophisticated menu choice. |
